ubrey and Matthew met junior year of High School in their AP English/History class.
Aubrey was Junior Class President and Matthew was a guy pretty popular with the ladies.
Though they shared a mutual attraction towards each other, it was not until the end of their senior year when Matthew finally got the nerve to ask Aubrey out on a date. They had been friends for the past two years - sharing notes in class, hanging out with the same friends after school, and forming what they called Jesse Bethel's first "Multicultural Club" consisting of only 2 other peers.
After their first unofficial date on May 22, 2001, it was difficult for Aubrey and Matthew to stay apart. They would page and call each other constantly though never formalizing their relationship until a couple months later.
On July 11, 2001, Aubrey and Matthew became an 'official' couple and spent the entire summer before college practically glued together.
Aubrey went off to the University of California at Berkeley majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Linguistics, while Matthew attended California Martime Academy, CSU receiving a Bachelors of Science in Facilities Engineering. Even with the 30-mile distance between them, both Aubrey and Matthew travelled back and forth every week to spend time with each other.
Aubrey is currently a Retention Analyst for Intuit's Homestead Technologies in Menlo Park. Matthew is a Utility Specialist for Genentech in South San Francisco.
